Model Railways-Out into the Great Wide Yonder(Beaton Flats)

This has been an ongoing project for the last two years but as I fell sick earlier this year the project came to a grinding halt. It has now been resurrected thanks to the unsually cool summer temperatures so far (touch wood) The layout is expanding from out of the garage (through the brick wall) and down the side of the house, turning right into a giant loop and coming back the same way it went out. The renovations include repainting the track and baseboard, cleaning the track and soldering all the track joints as peco track connectors proved unsatisfactory in the open air. A fibro roof has been provided to keep off the worst of the harsh Queensland climate. This part of the layout will be radio controlled and whilst I don't usually make excuses for my poor filming this time I am as I had to film with my right hand while working the radio receiver with the other. Once finished this will give a really worth while run for all rolling stock. I will keep you updated with further progress as it becomes worth while. Watch out for DCC and live steam developments as well.

MODEL RAILWAYS 00 GAUGE “THE (BLACK) FLYING SCOTSMAN

This rare and lovely model of the Flying Scotsman was produced by Lilput of Austria between 1970 and 1973. It is as you can see in matt black and unnumbered with a tender drive. They were assembled in the UK by a Company called Thernglade. It runs and pulls beautifully being nice and heavy. There's nothing wrong with tender drive loco's !

MODEL RAILWAYS 00 GAUGE “HORNBY’S NEW STANDARD CLASS4″

Another winner from Hornby apart from the revolting tender connection setup which is now apparently going to be the standard going forward- oh well just got to live with it I guess ! Bachmann have also produced the upgrade to their own version of this model but Hornby's five pole motor and tender pickups win out every time when your handing out well earned piles of dosh ! As you would expect it is an excellent runner and the detail is fantastic.
