Model Railways-Schools Class Serenade

As Hornby are ready to upgrade their “schools” class locos this year, here is a glimpse of the old tender drive versions of which I have no less than six, four being on display here in both pre war and after nationalisation liveries. These four run extremely well and could easily deal with the loads you see here.

Model Railways- A Class 40 “Whistler” meets a Mogul

A Great Western 2-6-0 mogul on a short mixed freight and a class 40 “Whistler” diesel on an express once again using the Gresley set of coaches. The last part of the clip contains actual class 40 sound effects.

Model Railways-Heavy Weather(ing) Class 37 Bachmann Diesel

Take a look at the heavy weathering on this Class 37 diesel as it hauls a consist of fuel tankers round the layout. We also see a class 24 on a coal train of empties. I have added some class 37 sound effects to enhance the clip.

MODEL RAILWAYS 00 GAUGE – HORNBYS SCHOOLS CLASS OLD AND NEW

A couple of green liveried schools class loco’s in action. Both are of course Hornby products one being the original incarnation of the class with tender drive and then the latest version which only arrived here in Australia just before Easter. The latest version of course has the motor in the body and has (shock,horror) traction tyres on the front drivers which tend to bobble a bit on my peco code 100 points but apart from that its a lovely runner and quite powerful. MODEL RAILWAYS 00 GAUGE “TENACIOUS TERRIERS” – THE A1X CLASS TANK LOCOS

Three different Hornby versions of the little A1x 0-6-0 tank loco’s are on display here. They are all smooth runners and the black BR version was bought second hand, “Waddon” was purchased off Ebay and “Brighton” was bought brand new from the Hornby Shop in Western Australia.
